Proud Coach

Our 1st Annual Stowe Swimmers Swim-A-Thon was a tremendous success yesterday. 26 swimmers jumped in eager to swim for 1 hour and they amazed onlookers; family, friends, and their coach as the number of laps began to pile up! Not a whine or a groan from any of them, only a huge desire to do their best, work together with their lane mates and prove to themselves what they are capable of accomplishing! The goal of this event was two fold, a fundraiser and a physical task. The funds are due Monday the 29th, but despite the total raised this event met the goal and provided the swimmers with a physical task that they conquered with smiles and cheers.

Thank you so much for all the volunteers who counted laps, I appreciate your positivity and support.

Laps were counted as down and back trips in the pool, each lap equalling 50 meters. Please review the list of swimmers in alphabetical order and their laps and total distance swam.

Week 3 & 1st meet results

Week 3 is off to a bullet fast start! Our juniors accomplished 450 meters in 45 minutes of practice with the help of fast flippers, their greatest distance yet! Lane 2 swam 1 mile, lane 3 accomplished 2 miles, and lane 4 swam 2+ miles for a total of 4000 meters! Every one's strokes are looking strong and growing in efficiency, which will help them out accomplish Distance Day this Thursday!

Congratulations to the 14 swimmers who competed in the IMX Challenge meet Sunday November 7th! There were 24 personal best times, and 31 top 10 finishes. 8 swimmers qualified for the New England Regional Championships, Heidi Brynn, Seychelle Duckworth, Alexis Faith, Megan Gresham, Emily Haskins, Rachel Haskins, Cassie Wisdom, and Samantha Wisdom! Swimmer of the Meet goes to Alexis for her team spirit, support of all her peers, 4 personal best times, and sportsmanship! A special congrats to Megan for accomplishing a powerful 100 Fly time that qualified her for the 12 & U New England Age Group Championships!
